For most people, emergency medical technicians (EMT) have simple jobs compared to other professions. What they usually see are people doing first aid while waiting for the hospital ambulance. What they do not know is how much EMT training these technicians had undergone.
For EMT aspirants, the qualifications are minimal and easy to fulfill: a high school diploma, birth certificate attesting one is 18 years old, and maybe a physical health certification. What is crucial is choosing a school to do one’s EMT training.
Schools
Today, there are already many institutions to select. One, however, must consider several things in choosing where to get his EMT training. One needs to first consider the school because it will include such aspects as certifications and some statistics on employment.
The other factors to think of in one’s EMT training are the expense and the time factors.
Regular training runs to around a semester or two, depending on one’s choices of EMT types. A reputable local medical facility or a community college can suffice.
